Where the money actually goes
Modular kitchen and wardrobes together usually account for 45-55% of a full home budget. False ceiling, electricals and painting make up another 20-25%. The remaining portion covers loose furniture, soft furnishings and the design fee.
What you can defer
Feature walls, designer lighting and the second bedroom wardrobe can nearly always wait for a second phase. Kitchen, primary bedroom storage and electricals cannot — redoing those later means opening up finished work.
